Luxembourg is about to transform into a true winter fairy tale from 21 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, when the Winterlights festival takes over the streets, squares and hearts of the capital. More than 1.3 million LED light points will illuminate the city, creating magical scenes in places such as Kinnekswiss Park, Place d’Armes, Place de Paris and Place de la Constitution.

The Christmas markets are at the heart of this enchantment: at Lëtzebuerger Chrëschtmaart, on Place d’Armes, 38 chalets offer handcrafted gifts and gourmet delights in a traditional atmosphere. At Place de la Constitution (Wantermaart), you will find 40 chalets, a 13-metre golden Christmas tree, a Ferris wheel, trampolines and even carousels for children. Meanwhile, Place de Paris (Niklosmaart) combines cosy gastronomy with festive décor, music for all ages and a charming carousel.

For the little ones, the Winterkids Village on Place Guillaume II is a world of fantasy: a giant slide, a magic sleigh, creative workshops, storytelling sessions and even an Advent calendar chalet with windows that open day by day. Place Émile Hamilius, in turn, hosts the “Sapin Royal”, with chalets, mulled wine and seasonal delicacies, as well as a grand decorative Christmas tree.

The whole atmosphere is designed to enchant: lights that shine daily from 6am to 11pm (until midnight at weekends), dozens of illuminated spots, music, performances and that warm, homely feeling that only Christmas can bring.

For those who live here, in the heart of Luxembourg, Winterlights is more than just a festival — it is a moment to reconnect with the city, rediscover the corners we love and gather the family to experience the Christmas magic in a unique and elegant way.

If you want to explore more details, attractions and tips for enjoying each market, check the full programme on the official Winterlights website.
